Modest Mouse

If Modest Mouse put out an album of cat’s drowning I would probably buy it.  I am mesmerized by these guys and the music they make.  Adding Johnny Marr, from The Smiths, has added more depth to their music.  Beautiful lyrics and amazing music. 

The Black Keys

I Have been slack in the past two years on sharing my music.  I am going to be back tracking to include what I think is the greatest music in the past few years. 
To start that, one of my current obsessions, is the Black Keys.  There is something magical to me about two man groups.  Especially when they are blues based and know how to rock.  These guys bring it hard and with a sense of humor.  The link to their “tighten up” video is proof of that.  They have several albums out, all are good, but “The Big Come Up”, is their first and really shows their roots, and the last two “Attack and Release” and “Brothers” are just plain bad ass.

The White Stripes

You know you are a bad ass musician when you can have an amazing band despite having the world’s worst drummer.  Jack White continues to balance on the ledge between ridiculous sounds and great music.  Check out “Conquest” on this album and you will see what I mean.  You start out laughing and before long you are singing the chorus with him.

Wilco

One of their most mellow and easy flowing albums yet.  Great music for any time.
