Never, ever, ever play at an automated video wheel. If you play roulette at all (and it is a sucker game) the key to play is watching the ballman. They develop muscle memory with the spin. A good spinner will consistently place the ball in a narrow quarter of the wheel 90% of the time. They just won’t start the spin at the same point every time which is why the numbers come up completely random.

What you do is memorize the wheel. That is a necessity. Then watch the spin from the time it leaves his fingers to the time it lands in the pocket do a count in your head. If he’s one of those 90% it will be like clockwork from fingers to pocket if it deviates by less than a second after you watch him spin 5 times in a row, you can make a boatload of money.

In table games if you want to make money, learn to play craps and blackjack. Craps has the least house odds and blackjack the odds if you are a skilled player can actually be in your favor.

I’ve been known to visit the casinos a time or two and have actually won some money.

When I “hit it big” on the slot machine, an old man was watching from down the row. After I got my picture taken with the big check and the excitement was dying down, he came up to me and asked me to choose a machine for him to play, since I was on a hot streak.

He actually said that with a straight face and proceeded to load money into the machine I picked out for him.

As if I would tell him where the next jackpot was going to hit . . .

while i am really not a fan of gambling, every once in a while the trade show guys will give me money and make me play for a bit.  i seem to do best at craps, even though i don’t have a fucking clue what i am doing, and at roulette. 

although you are right, my 37 and a half year old ass can’t bet my age anymore.  i can, and do, however, bet my birth day (5) and month (7)!

I am indeed a fan of gambling.

Over the span of time I am ahead of the house when counting blackjack and horse racing.

Slot machines I play for entertainment. But I do get lucky on them and my wife is even luckier. I think between us we are close to even which is incredible for slots.
